About me

Laney Christian Sweet
Laney Sweet
I'm Laney — a certified Birth & Bereavement Doula, mama of two teenage girls, former surrogate, current student of Music Business at Belmont, and forever-and-always justice advocate in honor of my late husband, Daniel Shaver. I hold space for truth, love, and lasting impact.

Education and biography

  • Laney Sweet is a certified Birth and Bereavement Doula through StillBirthday.org, with over 14 years of experience supporting families through the sacred transitions of birth, loss, and postpartum. Her caregiving journey began at just 15 years old as a nanny, planting the roots of a lifelong calling to walk with others through life’s most tender thresholds. Now 33, Laney is a mother of two, a widow, a former surrogate, and a passionate advocate for justice in honor of her late husband, Daniel Shaver. She’s also a closet musician herself, and wants it to be publicly known that she'd like to be buried with her Cat Power "Covers" vinyl, of which she keeps on repeat. Her offerings span doula care, videography, and social advocacy, all rooted in presence, empathy, and deep purpose. Through The Birthing Tree and her creative project Luna Beam Creations, she blends care, creativity, and connection into every space she enters. Laney is currently a student at Belmont University, pursuing a degree in Music Business to further explore the healing and connective power of music. She offers doula services, intimate videography for births and weddings, and continues developing work at the intersection of music, justice, and emotional legacy. Motto: Be relentless | Be sound
