Hi, I’m Laney. For more than 15 years, I’ve had the privilege of supporting families through pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and loss. As the founder of The Birthing Tree, LLC, I provide evidence-based, compassionate support to families throughout Nashville and Middle Tennessee. I believe birth is both deeply personal and profoundly sacred, and my goal is to help families feel informed, supported, and confident as they welcome their babies into the world. I’m continually humbled by the trust families place in me as they welcome new life.
My Approach: Compassion and Evidence-Based CareMy approach blends evidence-based education, trauma-informed care with compassionate support. I believe every family deserves to feel informed, respected, and empowered. Whether you plan a hospital birth, home birth, birth center birth, waterbirth, VBAC, induction, or cesarean, my role is to offer steady guidance and personalized care throughout your journey.
My Personal Journey: My perspective as a doula is shaped by both professional experience and my own motherhood journey. I have experienced hospital birth, home birth, birth center birth, and waterbirth. I also had the unique honor of serving as a surrogate mother. These experiences taught me that every birth story is different. I draw from my personal childbirth experiences to offer a more in-depth understanding of how support, or the lack of, can greatly determine the feelings a mother has when she reflects back on her birth experience. I have learned that every woman births differently and every woman is equipped with strength, wisdom, and intuition that will help guide her through her journey. As a doula, my goal is to help follow and enhance those natural instincts in a way that feels comfortable to the expecting mother. Through compassion, a calming presence and continuous support, I am honored to watch babies and parents be born.
Services I Offer: As the founder of The Birthing Tree, LLC, I provide birth doula support, postpartum care, childbirth education, placenta encapsulation, birth photography, birth videography, birth pool rentals and bereavement support. I serve families throughout Nashville and Middle Tennessee. My goal is to create a calm, reassuring presence so you can navigate pregnancy, birth, and postpartum with confidence. The Power of Birth: Over the years, I’ve learned that birth is about more than bringing a baby into the world. It is also the birth of a mother, a father, a family, and a new chapter of life. Families often tell me I bring a steady, grounding presence to the birth space. My hope is that when I walk through your door, you feel more confident, supported, and at peace, knowing you don’t have to walk this path alone. Advocacy and Compassion: My life experiences have taught me the importance of advocacy and compassion. These lessons guide how I support families—by listening carefully, honoring your choices, and helping you feel seen, respected, and empowered every step of the way. I am deeply committed to my clients and only take a limited number per month, to ensure quality care. Serving Nashville and Middle Tennessee: I proudly serve families throughout all of Nashville and Middle Tennessee, including Bellevue, Fairview, Franklin, Brentwood, Belle Meade, Green Hills, Forest Hills, Oak Hill, Nolensville, College Grove, Arrington, Thompson’s Station, Spring Hill, Hendersonville, Gallatin, Murfreesboro, Columbia, Clarksville, and surrounding communities.
